We are seeking a "Non-Residential Withdrawal Nurse" to join our team! About the Role
The Non-Residential Withdrawal Nurse (NRWN) role provides clinical assessment and supports withdrawal treatment, referrals and provides information for AOD clients undertaking withdrawal.
Non-residential withdrawal services are provided for clients undertaking withdrawal within the community (for example, in private homes) or through shared care arrangements with rural hospitals.
The NRWN provides services for the following target groups:
Low to medium-risk clients with an AOD dependenceClients with a level of stability in their lives exhibited by supportive friends or family, or stable housing.Clients accessing shared care arrangements with rural hospitals.Higher-risk clients requiring non-residential treatment, including targeted step-down withdrawal support following residential withdrawal treatment.Non-residential withdrawal seeks to cease or reduce substance use to a level that enhances a person's health and wellbeing in the short-term and supports a foundation for longer-term improved outcomes. The NRWN forms part of an integrated and coordinated care pathway by linking clients to relevant support services including AOD counselling and care and recovery.
The NRWN will work within the Alcohol and Other Drugs Team and reports directly to the Manager of Alcohol and Other Drugs. It is also expected that the NRWN works within the larger Primary Care Connect team and network with external organisations.
Key Selection Criteria The following criteria must be met and addressed in applications for consideration for this position:
Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Australia – (AHPRA) as Registered Nurse Division 1Extensive experience working with AOD clients.Minimum core competency qualification (AOD Skill Set) or completed within six months of commencing employment.Demonstrated proficiency in supporting AOD withdrawal services including clinical assessment, care planning, interventions, risk assessment and safety planning.Knowledge of clinical guidelines for supporting clients undertaking AOD withdrawalDemonstrated skills and knowledge of working with clients within a strength based, client centred and trauma informed framework.Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.Experience in the use of IT systems to complete daily work tasks.Professional and personal alignment with the core values of Primary Care ConnectCurrent Victorian Driver's LicenceSatisfactory National Police Record CheckCurrent Victorian Employee Working with Children's CheckDemonstrated knowledge and skills in working with dual diagnosis (where a client has co-occurring AOD and Mental Health issues)Benefits and Perks Primary Care Connect provides a supportive workplace with staff who are committed and passionate about the community that we work in.
