About Warwick Credit Union
Warwick Credit Union is a mutual financial institution providing loans and financial services to benefit our community. Supporting local towns and communities is an integral part of our philosophy.
With over 14,000 members and over $450m in assets, we offer home, investment, personal, rural and business loans, savings and fixed-interest term investment accounts, insurance and a full range of online and card payments.
Our members become part-owners and have a say in the running of the Credit Union, including participation in the election of the Board of Directors. We are run by a board of directors and employ approximately 30 staff.
As a credit union, we are supervised by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority ( APRA ) and as a mutual organisation, are part of the mutual banking industry offering an alternative to the major banks.
Your Commitment
To be a part of directing the organisation in 2024 and beyond, we are now looking for an experienced Non-Executive Director to join our Board of Directors. Mission Critical is to bring expertise and practical strategies, especially in Banking Operations and Information Technology in the Mutual Banking Sector to ensure we are successful in the business operating environment.
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Attending board meetings either in-person or online
Providing support to the CEO in conjunction with other board members
Assisting with organisational direction and strategy
Portraying yourself as an ambassador for the organisation
Warwick Credit Union has 11 board meetings per year, and as such, you will need to be available for approximately one day a month for meetings with other time required for meeting preparation. This commitment equates to at least 6 hours, once per month.
What You Need
To thrive in this role, you will be a strategic and commercially minded individual with demonstrated experience working as a Non-Executive Director. We are looking for an individual who has demonstrated the ability to positively influence others, think strategically and identify and critically assess strategic opportunities. Experience in accounting and or finance and information technology will also be considered essential.You will be a natural leader with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with the rest of the board, the CEO and executive management team.
