As a leading not-for-profit organisation and Queensland's peak autism service and support provider, they are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based services, including education, clinical support, and community engagement programs, to enhance the lives of those they serve.About the NED RoleAs a Non-Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Autism Queensland's future, supporting its mission, and ensuring strong corporate governance. Your key responsibilities will include:Contributing to the development and review of Autism Queensland's vision, mission, and strategic direction.Overseeing sound corporate governance practices, including financial stewardship, compliance, risk management, and policy development.Fostering relationships with external stakeholders and representing Autism Queensland positively in the community.Engaging in monthly Board meetings and sub-committee activities.About YOUWe are looking for individuals with professional expertise in one or more of the following areas:Corporate Governance: Experience in board governance within disability, health, or education or corporate sectors is highly valued.Financial Expertise: Senior-level financial experience and acumen in not-for-profit operations.Clinical Governance or NDIS Knowledge: Operational or clinical expertise.Education: Governance of schools and strong understanding of contemporary education, pastoral care, and employee wellbeing.You will have a demonstrated understanding in strategic business development and contribution to organisational sustainability, ideally including expanding operational reach, strategic partnering, and risk management.You will also have the proven ability to work cooperatively and optimise value of a diverse Board, employee, client, and stakeholder base, employing highly effective interpersonal communication, an enquiring mind, collaborative decision making, and stakeholder management skills.Aspiring candidates must be aligned with Autism Queensland's values, including a commitment to safety, inclusion, evidence-based practice, and client wellbeing. Lived experience of autism or neurodivergence is considered an asset but we also encourage individuals who connect with Autism Queensland's purpose to apply.
