About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking to appoint an independent paid non-executive director to fill one board vacancy. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about delivering innovative, secure, choice-based, affordable housing for people living with disability and mental health conditions.
Directors serve a three-year term, with the opportunity to serve a maximum of nine years (three consecutive terms). Board meetings are held monthly, on the fourth Wednesday, either in person or via videoconference. Additional strategic planning days may be required, and board members can also participate in one of two board sub-committees: the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee or the Property and Development Committee.
Key Responsibilities
As a Director, you will:

Provide strategic oversight and contribute to the decision-making process
Monitor the company's financial position, ensuring effective risk management and compliance with laws and guidelines
Help shape the organisation's values, culture, and strategy
Ensure compliance with NDIS, charity, and community housing regulations
Serve as a culture custodian, promoting the values of Access 2 Place

Key Skills and Experience
Our client is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the provision of services to people living with complex needs such as disability, mental health conditions and homelessness. In addition, lived experience of disability or board governance skills are highly regarded.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:

Financial literacy and experience in risk management commensurate with the knowledge required to function effectively as a director
Knowledge of a director's legal, ethical, fiduciary, and financial responsibilities
Experience in organizational change, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement
A collaborative, curious, and courageous mindset
Integrity and a passion for making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities

About Our Client
Access 2 Place is a registered community housing provider and NDIS Specialist Disability Accommodation provider. They offer tailored homes for people with complex disabilities, ensuring tenants can choose their disability support providers independently of their landlord. Their homes are located across metropolitan Adelaide and regional centres, including Mt Gambier, Whyalla, Pt Pirie, Murray Bridge, and Kangaroo Island.
They specialise in homes for people with complex disabilities across all four NDIS housing categories: fully accessible, improved livability, high physical support, and robust construction.
