Job Description - Non-College Work-study | Graduate Admissions (STU001997) Hourly Rate: $16/hr ResponsibilitiesAssists with day-to-day activities for the Graduate Admissions unit and supports the Office of Admissions staff.Interacts with UHD prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and community members.Assists in communications planning, event planning, and outreach to prospective graduate students by utilizing the UHD constituent relationship management (CRM) system (i.e. Slate).Maintains confidentiality of student interactions, meetings, correspondence, documents, and information.Provides administrative support for the Graduate Admissions unit to include general office tasks such as answering phones and emails, data entry, reviewing/processing graduate applicant documents, generating and editing reports/correspondence/presentations, running campus errands, and scheduling/attending meetings.Assists with coordinating and supporting Graduate Admissions events at both on-campus and off-campus locations, and attends and assists at events as needed.Wears staff apparel/business casual attire and maintains a clean and professional appearance.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust have a positive attitude and friendly demeanor; must be a team player.Must have basic computer knowledge to include MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent customer service skills.Strong attention to detail.Must be reliable; willing or able to work afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays as needed, depending on the department schedule.QualificationsMust be a current UHD undergraduate or graduate student and in good academic standing with the university with a minimum 3.00 GPA.Must be available to work up to 20 hours per week.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with/interest in social media content, including LinkedIn and Instagram.Experience connecting students with campus resources.Experience with CRM system(s).Experience with PeopleSoft software.Fluent in Spanish.About University of Houston DowntownCelebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is the second-largest university in Houston and has served the educational needs of the nation's fourth-largest city since 1974.
