Note: Hours: Monday-Saturday 9 AM - 7 PM $12/hour
Please send the following additional items to : An unofficial copy of all college transcripts; One letter of recommendation from a faculty member; A 3 (three)-5 (five) page writing sample; Works up to 20 hours per week, Monday-Saturday.
Duties:
Assists UHD students in building their writing, reading, and studying skills through online and face-to-face consultations (1:1 and group).
Attends in-class peer reviews to assist faculty with activities as needed.
Presents information related to the Writing & Reading Center during in-class orientations and events.
Assists with scheduling appointments, answering the phone, and entering consultation notes into the appointment portal as needed.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Blackboard.
Must have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Must have a collaborative attitude.
Must be reliable, punctual, and have effective time management skills.
Must be able to keep information regarding all consultations confidential.
Qualifications:
Must be a currently enrolled UHD undergraduate student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Must have at least a sophomore standing.
