Classification: CSE 6.1 – CSE 6-9 ($38.59 - $43.36 per hour)

This position is Nominated Supervisor for St Patrick's Child Care Services Latrobe and is responsible for the delivery of quality early learning and care for children aged birth – 12 years. This will be achieved through the planning, organising and provision of developmentally appropriate programs based on the individual needs of children. Programs and standards will be reached through the National Quality Learning Framework in conjunction with the vision and mission of Catholic Education Tasmania Children's Services.
ABOUT THE SERVICE
St Patrick's Child Care Service is a Not-for-Profit Service situated in Latrobe, Tasmania. The Service has been operating for over 20 years and offers care for children aged 0 -12 years. We offer an Early Childhood Service for 0–5-year-olds and our Shamrock Service which caters for 5 -12-year-old's. The Service Approval is for 97 places as both Services operate on-site. Our Service has a large outdoor environment with elements of both natural and constructed spaces. The service boasts strong occupancy with an extensive waiting list. We pride ourselves on providing a positive work environment.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Nominated Supervisor to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity. The Nominated Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations ensuring that the National Quality Framework and WH&S requirements are met. A strong reliance on constructive communication and collaboration between the Leadership Team – (Assistant Director; Educational Leader); room teams and families are a critical component of this role. Whilst the role is mainly based in the office, if required, the Nominated Supervisor may be required to work directly with the children.
Permanent full-time position of 38 hours per week.
Above award conditions paying 2% above the award rate – Modern Children's Services Award 2010.
Extra 5 weeks Long Service Leave provided.
ORGANISATION REQUIREMENTS
The successful applicant will be required to have the following:
Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent. Current Child Protection qualification, First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis. Sound understanding of the National Quality Framework. Sound understanding of National Education and Care Services Regulations. The ability to inspire, motivate and maintain a positive learning culture within the centre for children, families, and colleagues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High level of computer skills. Tasmanian Working with Children's Card. Minimum of 5 years' experience within the sector. Experience as a Nominated Supervisor would be advantageous. DESIRABLE PRODA (Provider Digital Access) registration. Proven experience in a similar role. AS AN EMPLOYEE OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION TASMANIA

KEY RESULT AREAS Leading the overall management and administration of the Service. Support the Educational Leader to develop, lead, and support all Educators to plan, implement, assess and review a high-quality educational program based on appropriate curriculum framework in accordance with the NQF, considering the developmental needs, interests and abilities of children attending services. Build positive relationships with children and families and involve families in decision-making processes within the Service through feedback and involvement. Build positive relationships with colleagues through open communication, mutual trust and respect and promote the highest standard of care for the children in accordance with the National Quality Standard. Ensure that the Service adheres to all relevant regulations and statutory requirements and meets or exceeds quality assurance requirements, liaising regularly with the Regulatory Authority. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the Service. Maintaining a sound and current understanding of the National Quality Standard, Early Years Learning Framework, Child Protection legislation, Workplace Health and Safety legislation and maintaining the Quality Improvement Planning routine. Actively mentor Educators in order to utilise a variety of educational strategies, including intentional teaching and reflective practice in their daily work. Lead and assist the Service to undertake critical reflection of their practice and implementation of learning framework. Follow Child Protection guidelines and understand own responsibilities as a mandatory reporter. The position would suit a candidate who has experience as a Nominated Supervisor or equivalent in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting, is well organised and able to work independently and as a member of a team and is able to engage with children and families in an authentic and positive way. - contribute to safe systems of work.
Create a safe and welcoming learning environment for children and young people congruent with legislative and organisational Child Safe requirements. Adhere to the requirements of the role in accordance with the professional standards expected of Catholic Education Tasmania and all organisational policies, procedures, codes, guidelines and applicable laws. ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION 38 hours per week preferred
6-Month Probation Period
Location: St Patrick's Catholic School, 55 Bradshaw Street, Latrobe
Hours of Work: 8.30am -5.00pm (Flexible as required within normal business hours of 6.15am and 6.00pm Monday – Friday.
(Hours can be negotiated for the right applicant)
Employment Conditions: As per the 2010 Modern Children's Services Award
Remuneration: Indicative Salary Range:
$74,000 - $84,000 per year based on an hourly rate – plus 11.5% superannuation
