About the role

We are on the hunt for multiple individuals to join our after hours operations team on a part-time basis in Canberra. Resident safety is a top priority for our frontline operations teams. In these newly created roles, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of residents and overall management and responsibility of the building during the overnight hours.

In your role, you will gain exposure to a range of tasks and responsibilities including: 
Monitoring building security and safety; performing perimeter checks and resolving issues or emergencies that arise while on duty.Carrying out administration tasks including maintaining records, processing payments, audit, reporting, etc.Effective incident management during night shift, including grievances and conflict resolution. Act as a support to the residents to form a friendly and open point of contact for assistance, information, and welfare. Respond to residents calls about noise or disturbances within the building, and lock outs. Attend appropriate training and mandatory staff meetings when required. Our Night Managers (internally known as Community Support Officers) play a key role in fostering a safe, secure, and healthy living environment for all students. We are currently offering four shift options:
Option One: Monday & Sunday, 16:00 - 00:00 (midnight)Option Two: Monday & Sunday, 16:00 - 22:00Option Three: Tuesday & Monday, 00:00 (midnight) - 08:00Option Four: Tuesday – Saturday, 16:00 - 22:00You will be required to work if your regular shift falls on a Public Holiday. Shutdown period will apply to this role for approximately 2-3 weeks during University Summer break. During the shutdown period, Community Support Officers may be required to take leave due to reduced hours.

Our mandatory requirements include:
National Police Check (completed within last 3 months)Working with Childrens CheckValid work rights in AustraliaMust be available to commit to one of the shift patterns mentioned aboveOur Recruitment Process
 
To simplify our recruitment process we will be inviting suitable candidates to attend a Speed Recruitment Session with members of our Operations team. Further details will be communicated in the near future.

These sessions will take up to 3 hours, consisting of a presentation and short interviews.

These roles will commence beginning of July 2024
