Job Description The opportunity:
The Social Development team supports the delivery of game-changing infrastructure.
Much of our work is in renewable energy infrastructure in regional areas, and we aim to ensure that our projects support a more sustainable Australia and more resilient regions.
Ultimately, we want to lead the industry in collaborative engagement and robust social and economic impact assessment, development, and management.
We are currently seeking a Consultant specializing in Social and Economic Impact Analysis and broader Social Sustainability.
This role will contribute to social and economic impact assessments and development, as well as delivering big picture regional plans and strategies aimed at addressing complex societal challenges.
Contribute to the development of social and economic impact assessments through research, analysis, and targeted engagement.
Contribute to the development and implementation of plans to manage impacts and support the delivery and operation of large-scale infrastructure.
Completing targeted research to inform social analysis, such as data review, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and benchmarking to inform decision-making around social outcomes.
Providing advice to team members on Social and Economic Impact analysis requirements and risks.
Drafting reports summarizing social impact assessment and management outcomes.
Providing targeted analysis and inputs into long-term regional plans.
Supporting the delivery of workshops, interviews, surveys, and focus groups and analyze complex data as part of targeted social research.
Contribute to thought leadership content to help guide industry development.
Desired Skills and Experience We are looking for talented and ethical social scientists with knowledge of infrastructure planning and a passion for the renewables space.
Tertiary Qualifications in the relevant fields, such as social science, economics, anthropology, or social planning.
Excellent research skills (quantitative and qualitative preferred).
Experience in survey development and analysis.
Renewable energy sector experience or a strong interest in this area.
Understanding of state and territory guidelines for engagement and social impact assessment.
Problem-solving aptitude.
