About the Opportunity We are looking for a passionate & experienced radio journalist to join our Nova Entertainment Network newsroom in a casual capacity, with opportunities to cover all networks. You will work independently but fully supported by other newsreaders across the national team to ensure news content is current, accurate and consistent.
You will have the responsibility for identifying, writing and editing on air news bulletins as well as bulletins for our news podcast offering "The Update". You'll have to maintain the smooth running of news broadcasts by ensuring content is compliant with all broadcast codes of conduct.

Our casual newsreaders are required to cover leave and be available during holidays and weekends (depending on your availability). You will work closely with our on-air teams as well as the News Director, Producers and Announcers to ensure on air news content is current, accurate and consistent with brand style.
About You To be successful our super star candidate will:
Have a passion in news and current affairs with a news presenting voice to suit the Nova brand – this includes the opportunity to present news for any NOVA, Smooth FM and Star FM.
Understanding of interpreting local, national and international news stories affecting the community.
The ability to work as part of a team and also thrive independently.
The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment - creating and presenting bulletins every 30 minutes during breakfast and every hour during the day and afternoon.
Accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
NewsBoss and Zetta experience highly desirable.
Experience in a regional or metro radio newsroom.
If required, available to work public holidays and weekends.
