New Graduate Midwives 2025: Applications are now open for the Northern Beaches Hospital 2025 Midwifery Postgraduate Program (Expected completion of Graduate Diploma of Midwifery by Feb 2025) Northern Beaches Hospital is a fully licensed private hospital, providing care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional nurses, doctors, and staff.
Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, a 50-bed Emergency Department, a 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 state-of-the-art theatres including cardiac catheter labs, a world-class education centre, doctors lounge, and excellent staff facilities including café and car parking.

About Our Service: Our Maternity services provide: antenatal clinics, 10 birth suites with waterbirth facilities, 40 bed antenatal/postnatal ward, Level 4 Special Care Nursery, Midwifery Group Practice, Midwifery in the Home, MaPS.
Public and Private birthing options including midwifery led care, obstetric led care, GP shared care, Midwifery Continuity of Care (MGP).
As a newly graduated midwife at Northern Beaches Hospital, you would be employed on a part-time (0.8 FTE) fixed-term 12-month contract, with the opportunity to extend. This is a supportive program for Registered Nurses who are newly graduated midwives in their first year after completion of their Midwifery qualification.

Orientation to Northern Beaches HospitalCommitment to your continued professional development with dedicated study leave to support the consolidation of your Midwifery skillsPlanned rotations throughout Maternity services including Birthing unit, Postnatal/antenatal ward, Midwifery led Antenatal clinics, MiTH, with the possibility of joining the MGP teamSupport from highly experienced and passionate midwifery managers, educators, clinical midwifery specialists, and midwives.Eligibility and Selection Criteria: AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife (working towards expected completion of Grad Dip in Midwifery by Feb 2025) & Registered NurseRegistered Nurse with 12 months experience in an acute care facility.Australian Citizen, with current unrestricted NSW Drivers licenseUnderstanding the role of a midwife within a primary healthcare framework.Demonstrated woman-centered care which is evidence-based & in accordance with ANMC National competency standards for the Midwife (2006)Demonstrated ability to consult and liaise with obstetric, medical & other appropriate staff as per ACM National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and referral guidelines when deviations from scope of practice are identifiedDemonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability in clinical problem solving.Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional developmentUnderstanding of Work health & Safety, infection control, and quality improvement principles.Employee Benefits:
