What you'll be doing In this role, you will define and implement the network architecture framework and develop and deliver the technology roadmap. You will be a hands-on network engineer with experience mapping out a technical landscape.
Document clearly and take all stakeholders on the journey of the system/application design. Promote alignment with departmental and sector standards, Information Management Strategy, and target state information architecture, including the roadmap activities to achieve this end state. Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop technical specifications for solutions. Providing leadership and direction to the network team. Leading initiatives and projects related to Data, Voice, and Video-based Communications. Developing and managing the budget for the Network team. Administering, maintaining, and monitoring network systems for utilisation, performance, availability, and security. Participating in architectural forums and providing recommendations for upgrades and optimising resources as needed. Ensuring an up-to-date procedural and technical documentation of information and network systems. Updating and maintaining the ICT change management system for new and existing change requests. Stay updated with the latest technology trends and make recommendations for improvements to existing systems. Working Conditions: Based in Brisbane Onsite Permanent full time Occasional interstate travel What will make you successful in this role? At least 6-10 years' experience in a similar role or more than 10 years in a Senior ICT Network Engineering role. Mining, oil, and gas industry experience preferred but not required. Network experience across regional networks such as APAC and EMEA. Deep technical design knowledge of Cisco LAN and DC switching portfolio (Nexus and Catalyst range) Experience in other supporting technologies (WAN, SD-WAN, Wireless, Security) Experience in responding to an RFP/RFQ Preferred experience in Server technologies both hardware platform and virtualisation technologies Security expertise for network access control, zero trust, IPS, ISE etc. Knowledge of cutting-edge technologies across automation and management Experience in working in a large Project Management Office (PMO) requiring change management and design documentation skills Ability to provide recommendations based on multiple factors outside the networks domain. Managing and mentoring a team of delivery engineers Ability to speak to "C" level customers to explain technical concepts and requirements Align business outcomes to technical designs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business or Computer Science or equivalents CISCO Certified Network Professional and Security Specialist or comparable qualification #J-18808-Ljbffr
