Job DescriptionThe NDIS Support Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to navigate their NDIS plans, access appropriate services, and achieve their goals. The role involves providing support, guidance, and advocacy to NDIS participants, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance and resources to enhance their quality of life and independence.
Desired Skills and ExperienceQualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in social work, disability studies, community services or related field.Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (where applicable) for travel to meet participants and attend appointments.Experience:Experience working with people with disabilities and/or in the disability sector, preferably in a coordination or support role.Skills:Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.Strong communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships.Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS framework, legislation, and processes.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.Proficiency in using computer software and databases for documentation and record-keeping purposes.Personal Attributes:Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude towards individuals with disabilities and their families.Commitment to upholding ethical standards, confidentiality, and respecting participants' rights and dignity.
