About the Role We are looking for an experienced office-based NDIS Coordinator with knowledge within Early Childhood, and exceptional people and administrative skills to join our Family and Community Services Team! As the NDIS Coordinator, you will be the front face of the organisation based in Baptcare's Mowbray Office, and will work collaboratively with the Local Area Coordination, Community and Early Childhood teams (Tas), to support the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The key focus of the NDIS Coordinator is to provide information linkage and capacity, build support working with communities to build awareness, capacity and improve opportunity for people with disability to participate as active citizens.  Key duties include: Engage in person led practices. Maintain strong external relationships to achieve effective interaction with service providers, mainstream and community services. Work in a manner which meets the requirements of the Outcomes Assurance Framework. Operate within Baptcare policies and procedures and quality framework. Behave in a way that contributes to a workplace that is free of discrimination, harassment, and bullying. Operate within a continuous improvement framework. Contribute to a positive team environment within Baptcare and the NDIA. Build capacity amongst specialist, mainstream service providers and community groups or organisations. Commitment to the special needs of children and vulnerable people with a disability from a culturally or linguistically diverse background and/or from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. Implement and work within workplace health and safety requirements. Commitment to the safety, wellbeing and best interests of children and young people, and to the duty of care in the prevention and identification of, and response to, child abuse. Follow confidentiality, privacy and conflict of interest policies and procedures About You You are passionate about continuing to grow your career in the Family and Community Services space. You have a nurturing nature and strong understanding of Early childhood development. Working as part of a close-knit team, you collaborate with and support others, demonstrating respect in your day-to-day actions. You will ideally bring the following: A relevant qualification in disability/community services or relevant experience in working with people with a disability. Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills, active listening, empathy, social awareness, and emotional intelligence in verbal communications. Experience and understanding of person led practices. Must have demonstrated proficiency in using various computer programs including Microsoft Office, Outlook, One Note, and client record management systems. Comprehensive understanding of the Disability, Child, Youth and Family Services sector, including Child Protection, the requirements of the Disability Services Act 2011, and the Children, Young Persons and their Families Act 1997 and other key legislative reforms.
