On their behalf we seek to appoint a suitably experienced and capable Process / Chemical Engineer to play a pivotal Superintendent role within the Refineries Leaching facilities.Highly desirable, tropical coastal locationExceptional career opportunityDrive cultural and operational successReporting to Manager – Leaching and Purification, you will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the department, including health & safety; environmental performance; production; maintenance; and cost efficiency of the leach operations.Your key duties will include, but not be limited to:Provide and maintain a work environment that promotes workplace health and safety and good environmental practice.Control the process to achieve production quantity & quality, and process efficiency goals.Ensure that all operations are maintained within specified parameters.Ensure that there is continuous improvement in process efficiency.Manage all aspects of department employees, including recruitment, training and career development.Ensure a cost effective, sustainable maintenance program is in place so that equipment availability continuously improves, and asset values are retained.Manage the safety aspects of maintenance and contractor personnel, with particular emphasis on education, lock outs, clearance to work, and supervision.Establish and manage a department budget, which achieves the required safety, environmental, cost and production objectives.Nurture and foster a culture of Continuous improvement within the department, andManage all department reporting activities to assist in monitoring, controlling, and optimising leaching activities.With 14 direct reports and a team of 60+ people across production, operations, and maintenance, this represents a significant role with a broad scope that will appeal to someone looking to ultimately advance their leadership career to the highest level within a world class refining facility.We require a degree qualified Chemical Engineer, Processing Engineer or Metallurgist with a track record of success working with and leading a team within a metals refinery.
