Job Description Join us in modernising our client's COBOL applications! You will be responsible for designing, coding, and testing complex COBOL programs and integration services, ensuring they are not only functional but also elegant and efficient. Collaborate with talented teams, including business analysts and other developers, to translate intricate requirements into innovative technical solutions.
Embrace agile methodologies to deliver projects quickly and effectively, adapting to changing requirements and prioritising tasks to maximise impact. Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to maintain alignment and foster a collaborative team environment.
Your attention to detail will be crucial as you conduct thorough unit and integration testing, identifying and fixing defects before they affect our clients. Contribute to code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, and promote knowledge sharing among team members.
Mentor and guide junior team members, nurturing a culture of continuous learning and growth. Share your expertise through training sessions, workshops, and documentation, empowering your colleagues and enhancing the team's capabilities.

Qualifications Core COBOL: Strong proficiency in COBOL programming, including syntax, data structures, and file handling. Mainframe Technologies: Extensive experience with mainframe environments (z/OS), JCL, VSAM, CICS, and PL/I. Database Management: Solid understanding of database concepts, SQL, IDMS, and IBM Db2. Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., REXX, Python). Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and in collaborative teams. Client-facing: Strong client-facing skills and ability to build rapport. Additional Information Why join us:
