Temporary Full Time up to January 2028 Salary starting at $106,025 p.a + super & leave entitlements Choose Your Location across Western NSW: Balranald, Bourke, Brewarrina, Broken Hill, Buronga, Cobar, Hillston, Tibooburra, Wentworth, or Wilcannia The Role The Natural Capital Advisor provides essential advice and resources to farmers and land managers, helping them make informed decisions about environmental markets and natural capital initiatives. This role involves engaging with farmers and land managers, offering expertise to strengthen partnerships and ensure the success of sustainable agriculture and natural resource management initiatives.
Key responsibilities include leading customer-focused natural capital services, driving regional delivery to achieve LLS Natural Capital initiatives, and providing expert advice to rural landholders and industry groups. The advisor will also disseminate up-to-date information on environmental markets, contribute to service design and piloting new services, and develop, implement, and monitor operational plans and projects. Managing customer relationships and staying updated on best practices in natural capital and environmental markets are crucial components of this role.
Our ideal candidate has: A tertiary qualification in Agricultural, Environmental, Natural Resource Management, Biosecurity and emergency management or equivalent experience Knowledge of environmental markets, natural capital assessment, or agronomy Experience in agricultural and natural resource management extension and advice Understanding of agricultural and ecological systems Insight into the needs and issues facing landholders and stakeholders in achieving productive and sustainable land use Experience in program and project planning, implementation, and impact evaluation Strong communication, relationship management, and partnership development skills A current driver's licence and willingness to travel across regional NSW About Us Living and working in Western NSW offers adventure, close-knit communities, and a mix of active or laid-back lifestyles.
