The opportunity
The National Manager Behaviour Support and Safeguarding will provide organisational leadership, advocacy and oversight in promoting high quality approach to behaviour support for residents and clients across Regis Aged Care Homes and Services.
This includes but is not limited to Dementia Care and Mental Health support.
The role will contribute at an operational level by providing expert advice to other Regis teams to ensure the delivery of personal, safe, effective and integrated care in line with best practice and sustainable management of the business.
Working with and through other members of the Clinical, Care and Quality team, the role is responsible for delivering capability within our carer and nursing workforce.
The National Manager Behaviour Support and Safeguarding will be the company's subject matter expert by developing and driving the strategy related to behaviour support, supporting high quality practice, and ensuring an evidenced based, best practice approach with effective risk mitigation strategies are in place.
In addition to behaviour support, the role will also be responsible for providing leadership to support in minimising the use of restrictive practices.
The important role you'll play
Provide clinical skill and expertise to ensure systems and processes are in place to support the delivery of evidence based, quality care across Regis Homes and ServicesSupport clinical compliance and safety, and manage risk (as it relates to behaviour support and restrictive practices)Skilfully lead and support projects related to behaviour support and safeguardingSupport governance and reportingFacilitate education and training program for behaviour support and safeguardingDeliver excellent customer service, contribute to team culture and positive working relationshipsContribute to a safe, compliant living and working environmentWhat you'll bring to the role
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration (no conditions)Qualifications or relevant training related to Behaviour Support, Dementia Care and/or mental health – desirableRelevant experience within an Aged Care or Health Care environmentDemonstrated knowledge of dementia and neurocognitive disorders relevant to behaviour support and restrictive practicesDemonstrated experience of working within a compliance framework i.e.
Aged Care Standards or National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) StandardsDemonstrated contemporary knowledge in relation to person centred behaviour support and restrictive practices in an aged care context.Understanding of current trends, initiatives and related issues that enhance the experience of people in care environmentsHighly developed analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to exercise good judgement, identify priorities and discriminate between options based on evidence.Ability to take a systems approach to the understanding of behaviour support and restrictive practices, and the delivery of safe, high-quality care.Capacity to work in a busy environment, successfully handling competing priorities and ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload distributed among a team to deliver agreed outcomes.Self-awareness of own performance, behaviours, and a commitment to personal development.Demonstrated experience engaging, communicating and managing relationships with a diversity of stakeholders across a national organisation and within a matrix environmentAbility to drive and influence changeAdvanced computer skills including programs in the Microsoft Office Suite environmentTo work in residential aged care, you will need to provide satisfactory background checks, supply an NDIS worker screening clearance, current year flu vaccination, and certification proof.
