Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA)
is seeking an experienced
Assistant Operations Manager, Aquatic
to manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of our Aquatic Centre. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of high-level events, programs, and services, while maintaining the highest possible level of service and safety.

As the
Assistant Operations Manager, Aquatic
, you will assist the Senior Aquatic Operations Leader in managing the facility in accordance with operational practices, quality systems, and legislative regulations. You will implement and continuously improve operational systems and procedures, allocate resources to meet all venue operational requirements, and maintain high standards of service delivery, venue presentation, safety, and security. Additionally, you will lead and supervise the performance of direct reports, ensuring effective communication and coordination between staff, clients, stakeholders, and tenants.

About the role:


Assist in the overall management of the facility, ensuring compliance with operational practices, quality systems, and legislative regulations.

Drive the continuous improvement of operational systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Allocate and manage resources to meet all operational requirements and optimize venue functionality.

Maintain high standards of service, venue presentation, safety, and security to ensure an exceptional experience for all visitors.

Foster a culture of safety, ensuring a secure working environment for staff and stakeholders.

Oversee the coordination and delivery of venue bookings and events, ensuring smooth execution and client satisfaction.

Provide strong leadership, setting clear objectives, assessing team performance, and offering coaching and professional development.

Ensure clear and effective communication between staff, clients, stakeholders, and tenants.

Implement maintenance and cleaning audits, ensuring schedules are adhered to and standards are consistently met.

What you will bring to the role

Essential requirement


Pool Lifeguard Skill Set (SISSS00133)

Provide CPR (HLTAID009)

Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy (HLTAID015)

Aquatic Technical Operator Certificate (SISSS00131)

Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation Certificate (SIS30122) and/or substantial experience relating to the aquatic operations environment

Current Driver's license

A Working with Children Check is an essential requirement for this role.
