The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced & enthusiastic National Safety, Health & Sustainability (SHS) Manager to join a well-established team in West Perth.
The primary purpose of this position will be to provide safety, health and sustainability leadership & results-driven governance on safety culture, compliance and standards across the business various operations.
The candidate must be able to work autonomously to ensure the SHS strategy and its goals are achieved, whilst supporting the broader SHS team within the division and the broader business.

Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of the scope of operations, including mining operations, working environment, current work practices and procedures. Assist site personnel in the development of site and task specific risk assessments, operational procedures and work instruction and conduct ongoing reviews of the effectiveness and compliance to risk control measures. Lead and conduct incident investigations, including the preparation of the investigation report. Conduct site compliance inspections and HSE audits. Assist in the management of Workers Compensation claims and Rehabilitation Plans/Programs. Provide immediate support for incident investigations, hazard management and follow-up on closeout actions. Identify and implement effective SHS initiatives and projects. Manage SHS systems and reporting. Qualification & Experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience in mining or heavy transport industry. Previous industry specific experience in a Health & Safety Management role. Health & safety or related qualification from a tertiary institution. Understanding of ICAM methodology or similar. ISO 45001/14001 experience. A thorough understanding of safety within heavy transport industry. Competent in HSE Statistics, reporting and ability to analyse HSE data for trends and improvements. Ability to undertake large scale risk assessments. Ability to develop tactical and strategic plans to address safety issues. A strong commitment to safety and zero harm. Advanced technical writing skills. Ability to mentor site HSE advisors and provide technical advice on HSE issues. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
