Position OverviewAviagen is looking for a full-time National Health & Safety Business Partner based in Goulburn, NSW.
Partnering with the Senior Leadership Team and reporting to the HR Manager, you will work closely with the business to embed a culture of care, compliance, and continuous improvement in Health & Safety.
Key responsibilities include: Ensuring compliance with Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and industry standards.Reviewing and improving existing safety systems to ensure compliance with legislation and proposing enhancements to foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and appreciation for the benefits of improved health and safety practices.Delivering leadership programs to promote strong safety practices across all levels.Analysing data to identify risks and opportunities for operational improvement.Supporting injury prevention, management, and workplace assessments alongside the Occupational Health Nurse.Conducting audits, investigations, and emergency preparedness drills.Driving cultural change and fostering proactive safety leadership.Ability to travel quarterly to New Zealand or as required.What We Need From YouTo qualify, you will need a tertiary qualification in Health and Safety and a minimum of 3 years experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a multi-site or distributed environment. Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and compliance frameworks is essential, along with demonstrated experience in:
Conducting workplace safety audits, investigations, and risk assessments.Writing health and safety training material and mentoring teams to build safety capability and culture.Leading cultural change initiatives to improve safety practices across an organisation.Incident investigation and management, including methodologies like ICAM.Preparing and presenting proposals for safety-related improvements to senior leadership.Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
