This role sits within the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA) Position overview The National Executive Coordinator provides assistance, support and advice to the Chief Justice of the FCFCOA (Division 1)/Chief Judge of the FCFCOA (Division 2) ('Chief Justice') to support the exercise of their statutory duties and exercise of their day-to-day responsibilities across two extremely busy Courts. Together the Courts comprise 122 judges; hundreds of legal, social science and related support staff; registries and circuits across 43 locations; and are responsible for around 100,000 filings per year.

The key duties of the position include Key Responsibilities and Duties Assisting the Chief Justice, and reporting directly to the National Strategic Adviser and National Executive Adviser, with the effective and efficient management and coordination of the Courts' internal and external conferences and programs, providing high level coordination, stakeholder liaison and ongoing administrative support, including:
Managing and coordinating the Courts' key internal and external events, conferences and meetings, including timetabling, procurement, planning and delivery;Setting priorities and managing competing workloads to ensure quality output and meeting deadlines;Engaging with internal and external stakeholders using clear communication, tact and professionalism;Liaising with judges and others to support various judicial committees and working groups;Supporting the Chief Justice to ensure a safe work environment and modern and effective judicial conduct and wellbeing policies and programs, through assisting the National Executive Adviser to implement comprehensive inductions and programs for the education, training and wellbeing of judges;Working closely with the national operations team assisting the Chief Justice and CEO/PR;In addition, supporting the Chief Justice with some project work, including:Research and analysis, including to assist with policy and protocol development, including on areas of workflow improvement, judicial support and entitlements;Assisting with the preparation of correspondence, presentations, reports and submissions;As required, supporting judicial committees and working groups, including assisting with projects and research and preparing agendas and issues papers.Some travel will be required.

Selection Criteria The successful applicant will need to have:
Demonstrated high-level organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, manage competing priorities effectively, and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with judges and staff of the Courts, external organisations and members of the public.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and maintain clear and open communication with managers and internal stakeholders.Demonstrated working knowledge or clearly demonstrated capability to quickly acquire a sound working knowledge of the procedures, guidelines, policies and practices of the FCFCOA and working within the executive structure.Highly developed interpersonal and liaison skills, demonstrating a client-focused approach, taking into consideration the needs of the client and the efficiency of the Courts, and the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships with key stakeholders.Research, analysis and presentation skills, including the ability to draft papers, event briefings, material in support of procurement processes and reports.Demonstrated proficiency with technology, including to support event planning and execution.A demonstrated understanding and commitment to the application of the Australian Public Service (APS) Values, to abide by the APS Code of Conduct and the ability to comply with the principles of Workplace Diversity and Occupational Health and Safety.
