Reporting to the Employee and Industrial Relations Director, as a senior member of the Human Resources and Organisation team, your focus will include:
Providing high level strategic and operational advice to the business leaders on employee/industrial relations issues including the identification of risks, initiatives, trends and contemporary best practices; Keeping abreast of the industrial relations legislation, regulation and policy changes and ensuring the leadership teams understand the practical application of such developments. Partnering with Projects and leaders to ensure sound ER/IR practices are maintained consistent with the organisations ER/IR framework, across multiple jurisdictions and industries. Providing support and guidance to HR Business Partners and collaborating effectively with HR Managers and Project leaders to continue to enhance the credibility, capability, and confidence of our function. Proactively contributing to work winning, analysing approaches to tender, developing considered and tailored advice and contributions based on research on wage trends, terms and conditions, industry or jurisdiction specific issues and other people-based considerations. Managing critical business risks and developing and implementing approved IR/ER contingencies/plans to minimise the impact on the business; Managing and guiding industrial negotiations and responses to industrial disputation or other critical business risks. What you will bring to the team: Advanced communication skills and an ability to build sustainable and collaborative relationships with stakeholders in often challenging environments. Comprehensive knowledge of sound industrial relations principles, practices and their corresponding interaction with business performance. A data-driven approach to decision making and advice, adept at collecting, analysing and distilling a broad range of information to enable considered decision making in complex situations. Proven experience as an IR/ER or workplace relations specialist with exposure to complex industrial environments. Enhanced problem-solving abilities, complemented by the discipline to ensure decisions align with the overall business objectives. Demonstrated experience in executing and driving strategies, business standards and practice to ensure compliance with statutory and government standards.
