What does the job look like? The National Commercial Manager - Business Development provides commercial support to the BevChain Business Development team and takes a leadership role in supporting Bevchain growth ambitions and strategies through:
Supporting the development of Bevchain New Business strategy and related regular planning processes. Overseeing commercial modelling and analysis of new business opportunities (where these opportunities are led by the Business Development team). Leadership and development of commercial team aligned to deliver the Bevchain new business growth strategy. Develop and deliver clear commercial handover protocols and contractual documentation from Business Development to Operational commercial and finance teams to ensure smooth transition to BAU. The successful candidate will support key accountabilities including but not limited to:
People: Create and maintain positive working relationships to develop a team-based culture of cooperation and communication. Liaises with BevChain Business Development team to provide commercial support to tender responses. Build and nurture a network of SMEs across Bevchain and broader organisation that can provide key commercial support to new business opportunities. Systems: Provide financial modelling and analysis across new and existing work in the BevChain business. This extends to: Follow through on commercial items in approved business cases to monitor execution against modelling. Operations: Develop an excellent understanding of site operations and how they relate to the financial models prepared. Actively encourage teamwork through providing effective leadership and communication. Assist Business Development team rate proposals, review for accuracy and completeness prior to submission. Keep track of existing Bevchain and key competitor contract renewal status to identify renewals and opportunities 12-18 months in advance. Customer: Assist GM Business Development in all contract negotiations and attend customer meetings to provide commercial detail as required. Work directly with customers to resolve commercial queries on commercial proposals. Are you the one? With demonstrated experience working across supply chain/logistics industries, you will leverage your commercial acumen whilst generating business with new clientele. You will have worked in an autonomous role supporting a team of analysts and sales/business development staff to best develop relationships both internally with senior executives and externally, with current and new clients.
Other skills and knowledge include:
Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting or Finance. Experience working in a supply chain, transport, or logistics sector in a client-facing/development role desired. Knowledge and proven skills in: Budgeting, KPI performance review, financial reporting and commercial business acumen. Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
