About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced Afternoon Shift Heavy Vehicle Truck Driver with an MC license to join our dedicated team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will be a key player in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods predominately across local and regional routes. You will work closely with our transport team to maintain the high standards of service our clients expect. Applicants based outside the Illawarra region will be considered depending on location.
What the Role Entails: Typically a 2pm start. Safely operate heavy vehicles, including trucks and trailers, to transport freight to designated locations. Adhere to assigned routes and schedules to guarantee timely delivery and pickup of goods. Assist with the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight, ensuring compliance with load restraint regulations. Maintain accurate documentation, including logbooks for work/rest periods, kilometres driven, and fuel/toll receipts. Requirement to work some weekends when volumes dictate. Conduct daily pre-trip inspections, addressing any mechanical or safety concerns before departure. Follow all road safety rules, especially those related to heavy vehicle operation. Collaborate effectively with the transport manager and team members to support our road freight logistics operations. About You: You have a valid MC license and a clean driving record. HC will be considered. MSIC card is required or open to obtaining one. DG license (preferred). BFM (will be trained up if not already accredited). Container experience preferred but not essential. Experience in a variety of freight types and load restraint systems. Strong time management skills and a thorough knowledge of traffic laws and regulations. Experience in operating on board reporting technology (tablet). Must be punctual and willing to work as directed if that involves occasional general freight when volumes dictate. Proactive in maintaining vehicle safety and compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. A strong focus on safety and compliance with NHVAS Mass, Maintenance and Fatigue protocols.
