* Exciting opportunity to strengthen Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities in Youth Justice.
* Support and make a positive impact on young people and families facing cultural challenges.
* Provide linkages between young people and CALD support programs and services.
The Opportunity * 2 fixed term, full time positions until 30 June 2025 based in Melbourne.
* VPS CY4 role, earning $104,544 - $115,355 per year plus superannuation.
* Reporting to the Team Leader, the Multicultural Practitioner will provide advice to support culturally competent and responsive case management and diversion planning across Youth Justice, including in the Children's Court Youth Diversion Service.
* The role will directly engage young people and families from CALD backgrounds and support the uplift of workforce cultural capability by assisting case managers with cultural challenges.
* The role will also engage with community members and organisations to provide linkages to relevant CALD support programs and assist with fostering a strong partnership with CALD communities.
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated expertise and proficient understanding of CALD communities and the issues impacting them, particularly in relation to young people.
You will also have the demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with CALD communities.
A Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Services Work is highly desirable.
A current Victorian Driver's License is required.
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
