Due to our continued growth and quest for continuous improvement we have identified an opportunity for a motivated person to join our Australian business in the capacity of MTBM Mechanic - Herrenknecht AVN Micro-Tunnel Boring Machines.
The MTBM Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all equipment used by the company, as a part of the operations team and in support of the safe, technical, and economical execution of the company's projects in the field.
Your primary base will be our Brisbane workshop, with the requirement to travel to various sites to provide support as needed. In this role, you will be expected to:
Travel to different job sites across Australia.Work extended hours when required to meet operational needs.Be available for weekend work as necessary. Responsibilities: Assist in the maintenance and service equipment used in micro-tunnelling, and auger boring Prepare equipment service logs and reports, in collaboration with the Plant Manager Troubleshoot issues with equipment and conduct required repairs Assist with equipment set up, and equipment disassembly during mobilization and demobilization during projects Assist in the training of machinery fitters and other staff in the technical operation and maintenance of specialized equipment Ensure applicable HSE standards are followed This position may be assigned to field locations during operations and travel would be required. About You In identifying the successful candidate, management will look for the following qualities and attributes:
Knowledge and understanding of the operation, repair and maintenance of heavy-duty industrial equipment. Experience with micro-tunnelling, and auger boring equipment is required. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and with skill Interpret and follow instructions from technical manuals and engineering diagrams Determine appropriate testing or troubleshooting procedures to find source of issue Knowledge and experience in working with hydraulic and electrical systems Basic computer skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) Essential Criteria Experience – Minimum 4 years of experience as a Mechanic Relevant work experience with Herrenknecht AVN Micro-Tunnel Boring Machines and trenchless technology is an asset Certification – Cert 3 Diesel Mechanic, Machinery Mechanic, or similar.The following safety tickets are required: Not mandatoryForkliftHRConfined SpacesWorking at Heights This is a position in a dynamic and rapidly growing company.
