About this opportunity
Supervises employees on an assigned shift to ensure manufacture of products, parts, components or assemblies, or to perform other routine tasks, such as cleaning work, within established timing, quality, and cost standards.
This is the first level of supervision.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Supervises production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed all established quality requirements, including product integrity and production order documentation.
Directs all related personnel actions, including training, performance appraisal, safety and attendance management.
Determines manufacturing priorities based on weekly/daily production schedules.
Interprets specifications and makes judgments about the acceptability of production that is in process.
Implements departmental safety programs to ensure safety of employees working in the area.
Represents and reports on all aspects of the production process at the morning production meeting and mid-shift updates.
Respect, recognize and reward shift personnel for a job well done and to encourage high performance whenever observed.
Organisation of breaks and shift handovers, covering of machines where required.
To work reasonable amounts of overtime where required.
Other duties as directed by the site management team.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Tertiary education highly regarded.
Injection moulding experience.
3+ years in a similar role.
Plant systems incl.
injury reporting requirements, maintenance requests, production reporting, quality procedures.
SAP experience highly regarded.
Influence others in order to keep production priorities on track.
Solve problems of both a technical and personal nature.
Assign resources to the most productive and effective ends.
Follow procedures and work instructions to ensure safe and high quality production.
Personal drive and results-orientation.
High attention to detail.
Communicate effectively and get people on board with plant objectives.
