This position involves the servicing, repair, and overhaul of all mechanical and electrical parts of motor vehicles including the engine, transmission, and suspension systems whilst striving to achieve optimum customer satisfaction as set out by the individual vehicle manufacturer.
As part of this role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Discuss problems with vehicle operators to diagnose mechanical faults, listen to engines to discover faults, fit and operate special test equipment, and test drive vehicles.Service, repair, and recondition vehicles assigned to you in accordance with manufacturer servicing specifications.Repair or replace worn and faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions, differentials, or steering gear; dismantle them and check parts, referring to manufacturer manuals as necessary.Reassemble, test, clean, and adjust repaired or replaced parts or assemblies, use various instruments to make sure they are working properly, and put them back in the vehicle.Tune engines using special electronic equipment and make fine adjustments for smoother running.Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs.Diagnose, repair, and replace engine management/fuel injection components.Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition, and electronic fuel injection.Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or list the work required before a certificate can be issued.Notify the Workshop Controller of any additional work that may be required to be carried out on vehicles.Operate equipment/tools and machinery as necessary for service.Record details of work performed for each vehicle on job sheets.Use time efficiently and maintain the highest possible quality in all servicing activities.On completion of service, road test vehicle with Workshop Foreman.Degrease engine bay and spot clean vehicles after service is complete.#J-18808-Ljbffr
