Merewether Tyre & Mechanical is seeking a valued team member, located near Merewether Beach. Passionate about delivering mechanical solutions that are straightforward, customer-focused, and of high workmanship, MTM is seeking an experienced, like-minded Motor Mechanic to join their team. The ideal applicant will be hardworking and reliable, with a commitment to safety and an eye for detail.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? This role is responsible for performing light mechanical repairs, servicing, and carrying out inspections of our customer's vehicles. A typical day may include:
Conducting light mechanical diagnostic work and repairs on a wide range of vehicle makes and models. Completing vehicle inspection reports, ensuring completed work is recorded and recommendations are flagged and communicated to the team. Undertaking other duties as assigned. Assisting and guiding the work of apprentices in a professional and friendly manner. WHAT DO WE OFFER? Hours: Work Monday to Friday (Mon-Thurs 8-4:30 pm, Friday 8-4 pm), with weekends off.
Remuneration: Be paid at a competitive rate, higher than industry benchmarks.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Our ideal applicant is:
Committed to safe work practices and following best industry standards. Personable with customer service skills. A great communicator with people at all levels. Strong skills as a mechanic with new and older vehicles. Strongly competent at using automotive diagnostic equipment. Able to undertake physical activities and heavy lifting, in line with the duties of the role. Able to make sound decisions, based on accurate and timely analyses.
