This position will offer you professional growth opportunities within a supportive and inclusive culture.About the Role:An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Mothercarer within the Women's and Children's Division.The Mothercarer will provide support to mothers and their families, within their own home and for up to six days after taking home a new baby.The support offered will be tailored to the individual woman and her family and the Mothercarer will contribute to enabling new parents to: Confidently and safely care for their baby.Rest and recuperate.Adapt to the change in family dynamics which a new baby brings.
Care will include assisting parents with the care of their new baby, household duties, transport, child care of older children, emotional and educational support, and referral of the mother or family members to community agencies for ongoing support.The Mothercarer will work alone with general direction and guidance available from the Clinical Service Coordinator or the home visiting midwives.To be eligible for this position, you must have Certificate 3 in an area relevant to the health of families (e.g.
Children /Community /Disability/ Youth Services, Aged Care, Nursing) ANDA current Senior First Aid Certificate.The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working including part-time.
