About our Building & Construction team Our Building & Construction team in Melbourne consists of 13 people and includes our Managing Partner, two Partners, one Special Counsel, two Senior Associates and several lawyers. Our high-functioning and ambitious team acts for local and international developers (both listed and private), contractors, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
Providing construction legal expertise to some of Australia's largest and most noteworthy residential, commercial, mixed-use and industrial developments (with a large concentration of those projects in Melbourne), our construction lawyers work collegiately at various stages of the construction life cycle (both front-end and back-end), including negotiation of commercial agreements, advising on risk minimisation and management, through to disputes.
About the role An opportunity has arisen in our Melbourne office for an experienced construction litigator of at least 3+ PQE (Associate up to Senior Associate level lawyer) to join our Construction team.
Our construction litigators are involved in complex multi-party litigation, defect claims, extension of time and prolongation claims, claims/injunctions relating to security, nuisance/trespass claims/injunctions, protection work issues, claims and judicial reviews arising from the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2002 (Vic).
About you To be successful in this role, you will be an admitted lawyer with at least 3 years' PQE, and bring strong experience in construction law, with demonstrated results in construction litigation and disputes, including adjudications, mediations and matters arising from Security of Payment legislation.
