We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher with a passion for Montessori education to join our dedicated team in 2025.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the Montessori philosophy, Victorian Curriculum, and the diverse needs of students. Create a prepared, child-centered learning environment that encourages independence, self-directed learning, and hands-on exploration. Utilise observation and data-driven assessment strategies to monitor student progress and tailor learning experiences. Foster emotional regulation, respectful relationships, and social skills through programs likeRespectful Relationships andPeaceful Kids . Collaborate with education support staff and specialists to ensure an inclusive, supportive environment for all students, including those with additional learning needs. Selection Criteria: SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to integrate literacy and numeracy skills while responding to diverse student learning needs.
SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by an understanding of how students learn, and evaluating the impact on student growth.
SC3 Proven experience in assessing and monitoring student learning, using data to inform practice and provide feedback on student achievement to students and parents.
SC4 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the community.
SC5 Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, reflecting on teaching practices to improve the quality of instruction.
Role: This role focuses on planning, preparation, and teaching programs that achieve specific student outcomes. Range 2 classroom teachers at Lower Plenty Primary School contribute significantly to improving educational outcomes and play a key role in shaping professional learning within the school.
Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor other teachers in critical reflection and pedagogy. Use student data to inform teaching approaches, aiming to meet and exceed student learning targets.
