About the Role: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Monitoring Specialist to lead a strategic transition and oversee critical monitoring, automation, developer, and testing tools within our organization.
This is a hands-on technical role with a focus on the seamless migration, installation, and optimization of essential toolsets.
As the Monitoring Specialist, you will ensure the efficiency, stability, and scalability of these systems while supporting internal operations with minimal disruption.
You'll work closely with internal and external teams, providing technical leadership in managing and enhancing our tool ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities: Tool Transition and Migration: Lead the smooth transition of monitoring and automation tools from the incumbent provider to internal operations, managing documentation, configuration, and risk.
Monitoring Tools Management: Ensure continuous real-time monitoring of infrastructure and applications, customizing dashboards and alerts to maintain high system performance.
Automation Tools Management: Oversee the installation and optimization of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef), reducing manual efforts and enhancing efficiency.
Tool Optimization and Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and optimize tools for security, scalability, and alignment with business needs, staying up-to-date with the latest technology.
Incident Management and Troubleshooting: Act as the lead for resolving tool-related incidents, performing root cause analysis and collaborating with infrastructure and development teams.
Qualifications (Must-Have): Australian citizenship with active security clearance.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in managing monitoring, automation, and developer tools in large-scale enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience leading transitions from external service providers to internal teams.
Proficiency with tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog, Prometheus, Ansible, Jenkins, and Git.
Qualifications (Preferred): Expertise in setting up monitoring dashboards and alerts.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and monitoring processes.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in agile environments.
