Outback Carbon Pty Ltd is responsible for the analysis and origination of the company's carbon compliance solutions. Outback Carbon has successfully developed carbon farming projects in Western Australia and we are seeking a Carbon Solutions Advisor to join our growing Perth office team of experienced professionals on a full-time basis.
Job Description Reporting to the Manager Carbon Solutions, you will:
Forecast forward compliance obligations for MEPAU under the safeguard mechanism. Draft emissions forecasts to support the annual Carbon Reference Plan development. Undertake evaluation and provide recommendations for carbon offset project opportunities, undertaking comprehensive economic analysis and business case recommendations for adoption. Build and maintain commercial models for all existing and new Carbon Farming methodologies. Drive commercial evaluation to support positive FID decision making on carbon projects. Support collation of source material for business cases for investment decisions that align with MEPAU carbon solution strategy and meet all investment criteria. Support identification and progression of business activity for capitalizing on new/emerging methodologies through assurance gateways. To be successful in this role, you'll require the following skills and experience:
Qualifications in Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Business Management, law or related disciplines. Complementary disciplines which may include Science (Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Forestry, Agriculture), Agribusiness, etc. Possess or able to quickly develop a deep understanding of the carbon sequestration and GHG emissions sector including value realization and economic feasibility assessment. Knowledge and understanding of business processes to deliver a range of carbon sequestration methodologies to ensure projects are analyzed and recommended appropriately (including HIR, Plantation Forestry, Environmental Planting, Soil Carbon). Understanding of National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme legislation and associated compliance obligations.
