About the role The primary focus of the position is to provide high level coordination of briefings, correspondence, parliamentary material, and other advice to facilitate timely, clear, relevant and comprehensive information to our Ministers, the Chief Executive Officer and the executive team.
This role will also provide professional advice, support and training to staff, including the executive and senior management teams, on correspondence and parliament related process and requirements.
About the team The Government Relations team is responsible for providing the Chief Executive Officer, the executive and senior management teams with statewide strategic advice, direction and support to deliver Parks Victoria's objectives by building advocacy and support and providing high level advice to other areas within the Victorian Government.
The team leads the development and enhancement of the organisation's reputation as a world class parks service by supporting Parks Victoria to establish strong relationships with government and partner agencies, the active engagement with stakeholders and the broader community we service, and by timely communication through defined channels.
The team also works with business areas across Parks Victoria to coordinate high quality parliamentary products as well as provide advice on parliamentary business and machinery of government policies, procedures and protocols.
We're looking for someone with: Demonstrated experience in managing ministerial and parliamentary documents, responses and processes. Demonstrated experience in reviewing and ensuring the quality of documents against defined templates, policies and guidelines. Experience in ministerial and/or parliamentary liaison work, particularly in the Victorian Government, would be desirable. High level computer literacy skills and experience in Microsoft Office applications including demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel to produce and tailor reports to meet different needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages to the audience. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work to strict deadlines.
