This underground mine has continually attracted and produced world-class professionals. With a strong community focus and core values including safety and integrity, we are proud of our role in community development and our economic contribution to the local Tasmanian industry.The operation continues to deliver excellent operational performance and employs over 500 employees and contractors who reside in the local region.We are currently looking for an experienced Mine Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and manage tasks which are required to be safely completed on a daily basis in the underground mine to meet the weekly mining schedule and as directed by the Mine Superintendent.The Mine Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of all personnel under their control and ensuring tasks are carried out safely, as assigned and as per safe work methods.This role is offered on a working roster of 7 shifts on (Night/day), 7 days off roster.Key AccountabilitiesManaging a full crew of employees, assuming direct control and responsibility for all activities within the area of responsibility in the underground mine.Ensuring tasks are assigned to personnel who have the skills, knowledge, experience, and temperament to complete the task safely.Confirming personnel are fit for work and have the resources required for the allocated task.Making sure production targets and priorities are safely met as per the daily plan and direction from the Mine Superintendent.Driving safety behaviours to achieve zero harm, be accountable, and drive safety as a front-line function.Qualifications & CompetenciesTo be successful in the position we ideally require:A total commitment to safety.Demonstrated experience in an underground mine.Demonstrated supervisory experience at an underground mine.Exposure and experience with the operation of a variety of mining equipment.Demonstrated experience in a hard rock mining environment, including both development and production.General experience with mine ventilation, dewatering, geotechnical awareness, and drill and blast methods.Ability to problem solve and multitask.Comfortable to present and speak in front of large groups of people.What we offerA safety-first culture.A workplace that fosters diversity and inclusiveness, and supports our people with the systems, skills, and behaviours required to live our values.Opportunity to work with diverse, talented people that are encouraged and supported in their professional and personal development.Relocation support where required to the point of hire and generous housing assistance.Financial Support for families where children attend boarding school.MMG is an equal opportunity employer.
