NMR has recently acquired the Far Fanning Gold Mine and BlackJack Processing Plant, based in the Charters Towers region of Northern Queensland as part of a new and exciting transformational acquisition.
The acquisitions provide extensive exploration potential, and a clear path to gold production with significant upside through resource growth opportunities.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mining Operations Manager to join our team at the foundational phase of this innovative new project.
This role will be based in Charters Towers, North Queensland and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
About the role The Mining Operations Manager will lead the operational facets of our gold mine in Charters Towers.
This role is suited to an experienced Mining Operations Manager or a Mining Superintendent seeking career advancement.
While a mining engineering background is not essential, comprehensive experience in managing open pit and underground mining operations is required.
The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of mining operations, including human resources, plant processing, maintenance, environmental and ESG management, and statutory processes.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the entire mining operation, including open pit and underground gold mining.Manage plant processing, maintenance, and human resources departments.Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and manage ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives.Coordinate with regulatory bodies and ensure statutory compliance.Drive operational efficiency through effective management of people and processes.Provide leadership in safety and environmental management.Key Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills.Broad operational understanding across various mining disciplines.Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with different departments and stakeholders.Knowledge of statutory and regulatory frameworks.Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 10 years in mining operations, with experience in gold mining.Experience in both open pit and underground mining environments.A track record of managing cross-functional teams and departments.Proven ability to manage ESG, safety, and environmental programs.Native Mineral Resources Holding Ltd offers competitive remuneration packages, including opportunities for professional development and career progression.
