The Opportunity MinRes is seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to join us at Wodgina—Lithium Operations on an 8x6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Reporting to the Senior Geologist, you will use your geological expertise to support the mine in developing, implementing, and maintaining the ore modelling, hygiene, reconciliation, and blending processes.
Take responsibility and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation and compliance procedures such as blockout reconciliations, blend reconciliations, end-of-month reconciliations, and daily/weekly/monthly plan compliance routines.
Generating blockouts that adequately reflect all available geological information, and the operating parameters of the mining fleet, to promote orebody recovery and minimise ore loss and dilution Implementation and continual review of ore spotting training and standards for digger and loader operators Providing SME advice engineers with respect to blast designs, blastmasters and dig plans to ensure geology is at the forefront of mining strategy and execution decisions Daily inspections of dig areas and stockpiles to support ore hygiene requirements, and weekly face mapping in the pits to help improve ore modelling routines What is required?
Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geoscience or equivalent in a related discipline Minimum 2 years of postgraduate experience within an open-pit mining and resources environment, preferably hard rock operations Proficiency in the use of Surpac is highly desirable, experience with other programs such as Vulcan, MineMarket, Acquire and Leapfrog also desirable Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs highly desirable, in addition to any experience with SQL databases Unrestricted Australian working rights About Wodgina Located 110 kilometres by road south of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region, Wodgina is one of the largest known hard rock lithium deposits in the world.
