Mining - Operations (Mining, Resources & Energy)
We are seeking an experienced supervisor to oversee and coordinate daily on-site activities for a current mining project. The project involves the construction of a new mine, located 30 minutes from Dubbo. The successful candidate will ensure that subcontractors and trades complete work according to specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily on-site activities and coordinate with subcontractors and trades.Manage labour, materials, and equipment to optimise efficiency and minimise waste.Monitor project schedules and address delays or issues promptly.Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits.Report daily progress to the Project Manager/Operations ManagerEnsure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.Maintain accurate records of ITPs, non-conformance reports, and daily project documentation.Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members.Foster a positive work environment promoting safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Stakeholder Interaction: Coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations with tradespeople, subcontractors, and site workers.Regular communication with the Project/Operations Manager and Client Representatives to update on project progress and issues.Liaise with WHSEQ officers to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.Personal Attributes: Confidence: Effective in conflict management and taking personal responsibility in challenging situations.Energy: Driven by challenges and opportunities.Organisational Skills: Confident and professional in both presentations and written communication.Customer Focus: Strong sense of company and customer focus.Teamwork: Promotes an inclusive team culture aligned with company values.Self-Development: Committed to continuous improvement and learning from mistakes.Performance Indicators: Safety Compliance: Adherence to safety protocols and leading a safety-first culture.Quality of Work: Meeting project specifications with minimal rework.Schedule Adherence: Completing tasks within designated timelines.Resource Management: Efficient use of materials and labour with minimal wastage.Communication Effectiveness: Clear and timely communication with stakeholders.Problem Resolution: Prompt identification and resolution of issues.Documentation Accuracy: Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records and reports.Required Skills and Experience: Qualifications: Trade Certificate in a relevant trade or relevant university degree.Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within the mining or heavy construction industry, with experience in large-scale projects, particularly in remote locations.Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mining operations, construction techniques, and safety regulations. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze project schedules, engineering drawings, and specifications.Certifications: SUPERVISOR - G1, G8, G9, G2 / S1, S2, S3.Other Requirements: Valid Driver's License.Remuneration Package: Compensation: $65-80/hr for all hours worked (estimated total package of $180,000+/year)Benefits: Company vehicle, profit-based bonus structure, opportunities for career growth and personal development.If you are a hardworking individual with a desire to learn and grow we encourage you to apply.
