An exciting career opportunity is now available for a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our busy kitchen at the Mildura Golf Resort.
We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.
The hotel is managed by 1834 Hotels and is located in the heart of Mildura.
Our restaurant is open 5 days a week and offers a selection of local pub favourites and bistro classics.
Our Chefs provide a consistent and high-quality standard of food to our guests.

Key Responsibilities: Strong focus on quality, consistency, and accurate stock control; Hands-on approach to food service within the kitchen while maintaining high levels of service; Work within set budgets in relation to wage cost and cost of goods; Ability to manage costs and deliver target margins effectively and consistently; Continuation of set procedures to create consistent practices within the kitchen; Modern and creative flair to successfully develop and deliver through the kitchen; Maintaining practices and training staff in work, health, and safety and food safety standards; Maintaining strong team morale and the ability to motivate, lead, and inspire a team; Working closely with all team members to achieve the highest quality service, presentation, and delivery to all customers.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Prior experience in a Head Chef position including proven ability to lead and develop a team and manage kitchen costs; Comprehensive financial understanding of managing a profitable operation and controlling wages and cost of goods; Extensive experience in a busy a la carte environment including menu creation and costing; A can-do, responsible, and flexible approach to work; Effective leadership skills, creativity, and a genuine passion for the industry; An ability to thrive under pressure and work as a team in a high-paced environment; Demonstrated understanding of Hospitality Industry (General) Award compliance; A strong appreciation of food, hygiene, and workplace safety.
This is a full-time role, working a spread of shifts over a 7-day roster, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and public holidays.
