Assistant Winemaker - Mount Avoca Winery Reporting directly to the Manager Winemaking-Viticulture-Estate, this newly created Assistant Winemaker position is a physically demanding hands-on role that encompasses a wide range of activities to meet the growth of our business.
Our perfect candidate would possess the following key attributes:
A qualification in oenology and viticulture (degree or diploma equivalent).
Winery and vineyard experience of at least four vintages.
A passion for wine.
Customer facing sales/cellar door experience with an ability to sell.
Operation and maintenance of Winery, Vineyard, Bottling, Packaging machinery and equipment.
Possess a Forklift licence, with experience in a winery/warehousing environment.
Fluent in performing all typical wine laboratory analysis and various associated record keeping.
An ability to listen and learn how to plan, manage, multi-task and troubleshoot any given winery and vineyard situation.
A hard-working team player with a friendly, honest and inclusive work ethic.
This salaried position would ideally suit a person recently qualified with some domestic and international winemaking experience, who is looking for a step up and a challenge.
The allocation of duties throughout the role would typically consist of 60% Winery, 30% Vineyard, and 10% general estate maintenance.
