The purpose of the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) program is to:
Equip and empower humanitarian entrants and other vulnerable migrants with the tools to address their settlement needs and improve social and economic participation, and community integration.Build the capacity of small and/or ethno-specific organisations to better support their local communities.Foster a whole-of-community approach to achieve settlement and integration outcomes.In recognition of the diverse histories, needs, and settlement journeys of the people and communities the SETS program supports, the grant funding will enable the Grantee to flexibly tailor support to meet local needs and achieve program outcomes.
GMEP / About the Program The project aims to promote job opportunities and regional living in the Goldfields to metropolitan communities and assist with attracting and retaining employees.
The program includes facilitated engagement between potential employees, employers and the local community to build strong relations to support those moving to the region.
Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive support for migrants navigating settlement services and challenges in Kalgoorlie, ensuring access to essential community resources and cultural support programs.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local employment services to facilitate migrant job placements and ongoing workforce support in the Goldfields region.Conduct one-on-one assessments to understand client needs in both settlement and employment contexts, developing action plans tailored to individual situations.Coordinate workshops and information sessions on settlement resources and employment readiness for migrants and their families.Document client progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with program funding requirements.Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including local government bodies, employment services, and community organizations, to ensure streamlined support for clients.Advocate for migrant clients' needs across both settlement and employment channels, addressing challenges that may impact successful settlement and integration.If this sounds like the right position for you, hit "Apply" or if you would like more information, give us a call on 089021 1***.
