About the role We are seeking an experienced qualified Sonographer for the role of Team Leader in the Mater Centre for Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Mater Mothers Hospital, South Brisbane. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months.
It is envisaged that this would be a role a current MFM sonographer would act in for the fixed time frame. Renowned as a leading specialist maternity hospital, the Mater Mother's Hospital provides a comprehensive range of obstetric and neonatal services. The Mater Centre for Maternal Fetal Medicine is a multidisciplinary service which provides a tertiary MFM service for Queensland and northern NSW as well as an early pregnancy clinic and a low-risk obstetric imaging service. The sonographers within this service perform first, second, and third trimester obstetric ultrasound examinations within the Mater Hospital. Facilities within the unit include state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, digital storage, and a computerised database network.
Salary range: $73.12 - $76.30 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and sonographer development and retention allowances. Additional Team Leader allowance of $8000 per annum, access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing As a Mater professional, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic O&G ultrasound examinations with the utmost quality and professionalism and completing a comprehensive examination as required for each patient in a timely manner. Additionally, you will be providing leadership and support within the sonography team in areas of workflow and staff management, education and learning, quality control, and communication between the disciplines within the department, and providing support to the Chief Sonographer. The role also involves coordinating and teaching ultrasound clinical skills to current and new staff and medical officers as required.
