About The RoleAre you passionate about supporting individuals struggling with drug dependency and navigating the criminal justice system? We're looking for a dedicated professional to join our MERIT (Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment) Program!
In this rewarding role, you'll provide one-on-one counselling and casework to clients involved in the MERIT Program, which spans 12 weeks and covers local courts in Newcastle, Maitland, Toronto, Cessnock, and Raymond Terrace. Your responsibilities will include guiding clients through the court process while offering compassionate support. You'll work alongside a supportive team of Direct Service Managers, MERIT colleagues, Administration, Allied Health Leads, and Nurse Managers.
Where you'll be workingYou'll be part of the MERIT Team, a dynamic multidisciplinary group including Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, and Administration staff. Our team is dedicated to offering comprehensive counselling and case management to individuals with drug or alcohol dependency who are involved in the criminal justice system. Our office is located at 670 Hunter Street, Newcastle, on Level 3 of the Newcastle Community Health Centre.
