In difficult retail trade, the pressure on the Merchandise Planner role intensifies. Re-works & replans become the norm, hours extend and stress levels go through the roof.

We are looking for a forward-thinking Planner to join this business where creativity meets strategy. This is a traditional Merchandise Planning role, where you will work alongside the Buyer and Design team across one portfolio - not a merger of three. You won't be expected to be working after hours & over the weekend in this company.

As part of the planning team, you will optimise inventory levels, forecast demand and maximise profitability. Working closely with the product team allows you to identify emerging markets & new initiatives that will set you apart from the competition.
The Merchandise Planner role includes: Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders within and across the organisation Building financial budgets that support the business strategy Developing post-seasonal and strategic plans on a half-yearly basis Effectively managing markdowns to minimise clearance and maximise stock turn/GMROI Analysing and managing margin mix through stock turn, GMROI, assortment mix, markdown program and marketing program Reviewing category performance weekly with Buyer Assortment Planning across ranges Determining replenishment parameters to manage optimised inventory in core products Monthly review of department performance with senior leadership team Ensuring consistency with allocation guidelines and principles to manage stock to sales ratio, forward weeks cover, stock turn, GMROI and return on floor space Establishing and managing item plans for imports and local ongoing lines, to effectively manage stock flow to stores and optimise inventory investment to DC and Stores What you will bring: 2 - 3 years of Merchandise Planning experience Understanding of inventory management within a retail environment High attention to detail and strong analytical skills Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Problem-solving and resolution skills Ability to work well within a collaborative, supportive team environment as well as independently If you would like to know more about this opportunity, please send any queries or your CV to;
