Australia's leading agribusiness making a difference - growing our world from the ground Competitive salary, branch incentive and vehicle Based in Goondiwindi, QLD We are currently offering a great opportunity for an experienced Merchandise Manager to join our team in Goondiwindi. This critical role in the merchandise team requires you to build long-lasting partnerships with customers and deliver appropriate advice and services using your specialist knowledge of a variety of agricultural products and supplies.
About the Opportunity: Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for managing sales and inventory of Ag Chem, Fertilizer, Animal Health and general merchandise products and driving performance in these categories. You will work closely with store management, agronomists, and sales teams, providing merchandise support such as stock takes, retail operations improvements, on-farm meetings, technical information and mentoring to encourage improved performance. You will have input to branch budgets and manage the branch P&L. You will negotiate with suppliers and develop pricing strategies, oversee stock levels and marketing initiatives with the aim of maintaining the business's competitive position for all lines. You'll manage stock turns and assist in loading and unloading trucks when required. About You: To be successful, you will have a strong technical background along with experience within pricing and margin management and sales target achievement through effective category development. The ability to network and identify opportunities for business development will also be key to your success. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to foster solid long-term relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders together with the ability to drive business outcomes and performance. You will also have excellent communication both written and verbal. Ideally, you will have exposure to SAP, together with some strong Excel skills for reporting. Forklift and heavy rigid license preferred but not required.
