About the Opportunity
Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) are seeking an experienced mentor to join the team as a Mentor Support Officer.
As a Mentor Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in providing vital mentoring and support services to ASA clients.
Your primary objective will be to facilitate apprenticeship completions by addressing industry, workplace, and personal issues, ensuring early identification and mitigation of challenges that may arise during the training process.
Supported by team Specialists, this role will also support First Nations apprentices and Women in Male Dominated Trades, and their employers, through their apprenticeship journey.
This position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis located in Karratha, Port Hedland or Newman (dependent on candidates' location).

Key Responsibilities
The role will include a range of day-to-day tasks including:
Conducting risk assessments with clients to identify any potential barriers to completion.Deliver in-person, phone and online mentoring support to clients, offering ongoing support and assistance throughout their training contract.Undertake contact visits with Key Client Group (KCG) clients to identify complex issues early.Develop and maintain Tailored Support Plans (TSP's).Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of databases and TSP's, adhering to compliance requirements.Deliver information sessions at school and community events to support and promote the value of apprenticeships, traineeships and the benefits of mentoring support.Host networking events to create engagement for First Nations and/or Women in Male Dominated Trades apprentices.Collaborate with key stakeholders in job search and employment services for job seekers. About You
To be a successful mentor you will have the following skills and experience:
Knowledge and awareness of issues and potential barriers to completion of Apprenticeships.A minimum of 12 months relevant experience working with young people or proven relevant experience.Understanding of the issues faced by women in trades and/or male dominated work environments.Must be able to provide Apprentices with sound guidance in drawing from life experience, workplace knowledge, values and academic achievement.Excellent customer service skills.Excellent communication skills – oral and written.Ability to promote Australian Apprenticeships to prospective clients and represent ASA at events.Understanding/knowledge of apprenticeships and traineeships.Ability to work to and deliver on KPIs.National Police Clearance, Drivers Licence & Working with Children Check (essential).
