Meeka Metals | Mine Foreman - Open Pit | Perth

Meeka Metals Limited (MEK) is building Western Australia's newest gold mine, the Murchison Gold Project, 50kms north of Meekatharra and requires an experienced Processing Manager to drive production through the Company's processing plant.

The project is a combined open pit and underground mining operation with an initial 9-year mine life.
Site activities are ramping up now with construction underway, mining operations commencing early in 2025 and processing commencing shortly thereafter.

About the Role The Mine Foreman – Open Pit will report into the Mining Manager – Open Pit is responsible for the day-to-day planning and organising of open pit mining operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Recruit and lead the process team through commissioning and in production.
Produce annual, monthly and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
Be responsible for overall execution of plan on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and report on variances to the plan.
Supervise processing team performance and personnel development whilst maintaining up to date Standard Operating Procedures for routine tasks.
Liaise with all stakeholders internally and externally to maximise plant and equipment utilisation.
Attend site safety meetings for all crews within your department.
Compile and submit Capital expenditure applications where appropriate.
Manage, supervise and coordinate required project works.
Management of all tailing's storage facilities whether a TSF or in-pit.
Ensure the security of the Processing Plant including the gold room.
Provide input to maintenance on the process plant and help coordinate maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with MEK safety policies, The Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 as well as other appropriate legislation.
About You Quarry Manager's Certificate of Competency (Desirable).
Minimum 10 years' experience in open pit mining operations and practices.
Solid technical and working knowledge of relevant legislation.
Strong production and development background with operator experience.
Knowledge of drilling and blasting techniques.
Proven ability to co-ordinate activities and schedule labour effectively.
Lead teams to achieve a high level of compliance and results.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office.
Valid C Western Australian Drivers Licence.
Senior First Aid Certificate.
Valid National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old).
