Medical Records - PMI Coordinator Job no: 883223 Work type: Full time Location: Adelaide CBD Categories: Administration and Clerical Women's and Children's Health Network, Corporate Services, North Adelaide Classification ASO3 – $67,589 - $72,033 Full Time - Term Contract (temporary up to June 2025) About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Corporate Services team as a Medical Records – Patient Master Index Coordinator (PMI), where you will be responsible for: Coordinate overall management of the Patient Master Index (PMI).
Take complete responsibility for Patient Registration, Alerts, and Medical Record Tracking components.
Develop and review organisational policies and procedures to ensure PMI accuracy and completeness.
Recommend changes/updates to the system based on standards or practice changes.
Maintain confidentiality and security of the PMI, managing security levels and liaising with patients/guardians.
Liaise with the Department of Health and Ageing on data integrity errors/omissions.
Advise on future needs for patient data collection and storage.
Ensure identification of children under Guardianship of the Minister in Homer, EDIS, and medical records.
Identify children involved in Family Court Orders in Homer and medical records and Adelaide Women's prison patients.
Ensure adherence to relevant government and organisational policies and procedures, including Department of Health and Ageing standards for client identification data.
Maintain a customer-focused service and portray a professional image.
Respect patient rights and act with diplomacy while providing efficient service.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Word processing with high accuracy and attention to detail; experience in data management (Microsoft suite and Hospital PAS).
Experience in Medical Record department, PMI office, or a multidisciplinary complex healthcare facility.
Use of a range of software packages for data management (e.g., PMI, Homer Tracking).
Knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, and guidelines pertaining to health information, confidentiality, and information security.
Familiarity with technological advances related to electronic PMI linkages and computerized tracking systems.
Understanding of computerised hospital patient information systems and hospital clerical workflows.
Demonstrated ability to undertake assigned duties without direct supervision.
Ability to use initiative and think creatively.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic.
